Not A Creature Stirred

This started as a sketch in my sketchbook, merging a dreamlike winter snowglobe and gingerbread inspired house with a scene that could also be real life. It became my first experiment with painting oils over a watercolor painting. I sealed the watercolors with a clear gesso before layering oils over top. I love how the texture of the oils give this painting depth and the illusion of real snow!
